If you’re like most people, you’re probably feeling tired and stressed all the time. But it really doesn’t have to be that way.  You can be happy in life even when you’re working.  All it takes, really, is to have a balanced lifestyle.

While this has a lot to do with controlling your mind and have little to do with time management and other stuff you might associate with “balance”, I truly believe that having a balanced mind is the key to having a balanced lifestyle.

Some key measures for obtaining a balanced lifestyle are:

1. Meditation

Meditating twice a day, once after waking and once before going to sleep helps you to feel centered even if the rest of the world is askew. If you don’t think you don’t have time to meditate, think again. If you learn a mantra from a meditation teacher, you can just repeat your mantra once and then you’re done with your meditation.
The most common mantra is Ohm, however, there are many other monosyllabic Sanskrit words that you can use as your mantra.
2. Being in the moment
After meditation and throughout the day, avoid thinking about things in the past or in the future because that will stop you from appreciating what you have in the present moment. If your mind drifts away and you start to feel upset over something, interrupt the thought right away and replace it with a positive one.
3. Exercise
Exercising 30 minutes a day can go a long way to breathing more oxygen into your brain. Jog around your neighborhood and if you want to, dance alone in your room.
