Earning Success while becoming a Thoroughbred is brought on by becoming well trained, educated or well bred.  

Thoroughbred’s are well trained horse’s or individuals who wear blinders when they run their race in order to keep their eyes focused straight ahead, allowing no distractions to get in their way.  In other words, they run their own race in order to win the Prize at the end.  While in the process they lose sight of everyone else and head for the Prize or completed goal.

Biblical Success: 40 Commands To Follow

1. God is a God of order and He wants each of us to succeed, and because of this He has established Biblical Success through 40 Commands to Be Followed, if we choose to.

As we know God is a God who gives to each of us the gift of choice.  We can choose to follow his commands or follow after our own will.  Know that God wants you to be happy and enjoy your life, so he’s given us some commands in the Bible to keep us on track.

40 Biblical Commands To Be Followed:

1.    Be slow to anger, abound in love and forgiveness.  (Numbers 14:18)

2.    Remain in right relationship with our brothers.  (Matthew 5:24)

3.    Follow the rule of Peace.  (Colossians 3:15)

4.    Never “get even.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

5.    Be an Example to others.  (1 Timothy 4:12)

6.    Be Steadfast and Unmovable.  (1 Corinthians 15:58)

7.    Renew our minds.  (Romans 12:2)

8.    Separate ourselves from unclean things. (2 Corinthians 6:17)

9.    Be content with what we have.  (Hebrews 13:5)

Biblical Success begins with you thinking right.  Begin thinking as if you are in charge! Begin thinking success for your life, your family, and your future!  Keep your thought standards high, clean and of course pure by following the 40 Commands. You have no excuse because you have  a God-given ability to change your attitude, which in turn can change your circumstances.

Follow after the 40 Commands given and never allow your plans to get muddy because your goals will never be reached.  If you do, you will begin to see only negative situations which we call “soul termites” because they will destroy your plans, goals and dreams by stopping you from taking action, eating away your desires!

We've all failed, been disappointed, hurt or “stomped upon,” but don’t allow the past to feed your mind.  If you allow this to happen, you’ll develop what’s been called “mental malignancy.” Biblical Success requires a Winning Attitude and following after the 40 Commands.

Therefore, get your tail up and move forward….There are No Excuses.

Being Strong and Courageous!

Being Strong and Courageous begins first with our mindset!

“Be strong and Courageous.  Do not be terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”–Joshua 1:9

Admit to the fact that you either have the mindset of a conqueror, or the mindset of a weakling or failure.  The fear of failure is based upon the fear of death, but to overcome failure we must remove the negativity and the failure mindset from our beings and replace our thoughts and beliefs with positive thoughts that are motivated or geared to faith, belief and success.

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.”–Muhammad Ali

This can be done by renewing our mind with the Word of God daily, as we are limited only by our perspective, intelligence, time, space and our humanity.  Meeting God daily on a one on one basis removes our earthly limitations.  ”Be strong and of a good courage!”

Learn to banish fear from your life.  Understand that you do have the capability to take the necessary steps for personal fulfillment by helping others, attaining new friends, growing new personable contacts and better ideas which will lead to the fulfilling of your inner dreams.

By reducing and eventually removing the fear and worry from your life, you will begin to see new options, new ways of doing things, and receive new ways of relating to life that were invisible to you before.

Being Strong and Courageous allows you to abandon worry and fear from your life and thereby gain the confidence to pursue a new career or dream, gives you the emotional freedom to ask others for help, the ability to handle criticism as well as rejection with ease.  It gives you the confidence to allow yourself to take a risk, speak to a group, ask for a necessary raise, do more for your favorite charity and the courage to invest in a business.

Fear paralyzes and stops you in your tracks.  It has the ability to overwhelm you and immobilize you.  Being Strong and Courageous is God’s pattern of success by purifying us of past failures, giving us fresh revelation from His Word, and thereby leading us into “paths of righteousness” which will end in Success.

Retirement: Now or Later?

In order to be able to retire well without having to be concerned or  worried about running out of money, you must  first figure out  exactly how much money you really need.

Those in the  financial industry will tell you many things, but we must remember that they increase their profits by selling more financial products. These can include mutual funds, GIC’s, IRA, RRSP’s, bonds, stocks, IPO’s, life insurance and a range of other products. Many times you will be asked to save as much as possible for as long as possible, regardless of how much you need. But the truth is:  Only you can answer that by determining what kind of lifestyle you desire.

Here’s a story which illustrates this (Retirement: Now or Later?)

A few years ago, a very rich businessman decided to take a vacation to a small tropical island in the South Pacific. He had worked hard all his life and had decided that now is the time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He’s excited about visiting the island because he’s heard that there is incredible fishing there. He loved fishing as a young boy, but hadn’t gone in years because he had been so busy working to save for his retirement.

On the first day, he had his breakfast and headed to the beach. The time is around 9:30 am.  On the beach he spots a fisherman coming in with a large bucket filled with fish!

“How long did you fish for that catch?” he asks.

The fisherman looks at the businessman with a wide grin across his face and explains that he fishes for about three hours every day. The businessman then asks him why he returned so quickly because due to the haul the fisherman has, he’s worried that all the fish are gone.

“Don’t worry”, says the fisherman, “There’s still plenty of fish out there.”

Dumbfounded, the businessman asked the fisherman why he didn’t continue catching more fish. The fisherman patiently explains that what he caught is all he needs.

“I’ll spend the rest of the day playing with my family, talking with my friends and maybe drinking a little wine.  After that I’ll relax on the beach.

Now the rich businessman figures he needs to teach this peasant fisherman a thing or two. So he explains to him that he should stay out all day and catch more fish. Then he would be able to save up the extra money he makes and buy an even bigger boat to catch even more fish. Then he would be able to  keep reinvesting his profits in even more boats and hire many other fishermen to work for him.  Then, if he really works hard, in 20 or 30 years he’ll be a very rich man indeed.

The businessman feels pleased that he’s helped teach this simple fellow how to become rich.  However, the fisherman looks at the businessman with a puzzled look on his face and asks him what was he suppose to do after he became very rich. So the businessman responds quickly:

“You can spend time with your family, talk with your friends, and maybe drink a little wine. Or you could just relax on the beach.”

You see, this is a very simple story, but depending on the lifestyle you want – you may be closer to retirement than you think.

It’s quite easy to say that having money is not important; but from one who at one time or another having been in the position of wondering how you are going to eat as a child, I can honestly say and understand that having money is better than not.

How much money is yet another question only you can decide; but having the power to pursue your dreams comfortably is bliss.

Here is a basic formula you can use to help you calculate how much you really need to retire:

Total current income (your salary) – taxes – work expenses – all debt interest (be debt free before you retire!) + New lower tax expenses (investment tax vs. earned income tax) + costs of your hobbies and desired lifestyle = How much do you need every year after taxes?

Your outcome will determine whether you are ready for Retirement now or later.

What Is Your Mission Statement?

When determining your Mission Statement make sure that it translates your “Vision” into Words.  

Your Mission Statement should explain why you are here and what you propose to do with your life.  It should be brief and kept simple and expressed in the present tense.  Describe your Vision as if you’ve already achieved it.

A Personal Mission Statement will help you to organize your entire life — your time, your thoughts, your priorities. Actually, a personal mission statement, conscientiously developed, will change the way you view everything in your life.

Your personal mission statement will force you to constantly re-evaluate who you are, what you’re about, and what you’re doing.

Example:  The Constitution of the United States.

The essential mission statement there is “…to create a more perfect union.”

Where would we be as a nation today if they had not outlined the goals and hopes of a new nation in those terms?

The basics of a mission statement are as follows:

1. Keep it brief and to the point.

Nelson Mandela’s mission statement, developed over his 27 years in prison in South Africa, says just this:

“End Apartheid.”

Another great mission statement was developed by Abraham Lincoln upon his inauguration as President.

“Preserve the Union.”

Note that mission statements can change. Perhaps a mission is accomplished.

Franklin Roosevelt started his presidency with a mission to:

“End the Depression.”

By the time that was almost done another threat had arisen and the United States had become involved in World War II. Now the mission statement was:

“End the War.”

2. KISS.  Keep your mission statement  simple.

Make sure that even a 12-year-old would be able to understand the statement.

3. Make it memorable so it can be seared into your consciousness.

The rule of thumb here is that if you can’t recite it from memory, it’s too long and too complicated.

4.  Go public with it.

Your vision gains power when you go public with it.  When you put your commitment on record, you’re giving yourself an extra incentive to succeed.

If your Mission Statement calls you to be a “CEO”, then you should state it like you’ve already arrived.  ”I am the President of a Digital Software Company and my office is located in San Diego, CA overlooking the Ocean.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your job IS your mission. It’s only part of it…or not.

Either way, remember that a mission is larger than a job. Your job may change, but your mission may not. In fact, there are times that a job MUST change in order that a mission be completed. So don’t lock yourself in a box that says that you ARE your work. You’re far more than that.

Finally, clear out the negative  influences that have driven you in the past.

A mission statement isn't about what you think you should be doing. It’s about what “EXCITES” you. So instead of listening to all those voices from the past…the ones that told you you weren't worth anything, that you’d never succeed, and so forth. Concentrate on your gifts and follow after  your dreams.

Make yourself a copy of your Mission Statement and display it in a prominent place where it will be a constant reminder for you, your family and your associates as to the commitment you have made.  By doing this your subconscious mind will adopt to the vision you’ve created and will constantly direct your behavior toward the achievement of it.

Removing the “Sucker-Shoots!”

From time to time we must evaluate our past behavior and take time to remove the “Sucker-Shoots!”

Sucker-Shoots are tiny offshoots which will literally drain and disable the “vine” so that it no longer produces fruit – only leaves.  These shoots are a slow downward spiral based on the wrong choices we’ve made.  If you ignore them and let them continue to grow, in time they will drain or disable you from being Christ centered with the will to do good.  In fact, you will lose all sensitivity to wrong altogether.

Insensitivity to “Sucker-Shoots” will place in your life:

a.  Insensitivity to the needs of others

b.  Your drive for success at the expense of your family, as well as spiritual well being

c.   Laziness and lack of personal discipline

d.  Insecurity

“He cuts off every branch..that bears no fruit.”–John 15:2

It’s a great value that the Creator is determined to remove “Sucker-Shoots.”  He is committed to this purpose and there is nothing which we can do to dissuade Him!  He is relentless and never runs of out creative ideas for destroying them.

What are the “Sucker-Shoots” in your life?  What is keeping you from being fruitful? Realize that they didn’t spring up overnight.  There’s absolutely no one who makes a “single leap” from the pinnacle of commitment to the deadening swamp of carnality. This occurs over time by giving a deaf ear to the Spirit.

Isn’t it great that we all have the gift of “choice?”  Choose this day for a new life and a new beginning at the brink of this Year End 2013.  Ask God to remove the “Sucker-Shoots,” then, allow Him to do so.

There are few things in the world that feel as good as achieving a level of success. While you may already be there, you can benefit a great deal from inspiring others to create success of their own. No matter what background you have or what it is you are good at, you have a lot to offer others who could use a little bit of inspiration to become motivated to take action steps towards creating success of their own.

Think about where you were before you became successful. The chances are very good that you were inspired by someone in your life that made you want to go out and achieve all of your goals. By them inspiring others to create success, you were able to look towards your dreams and work at all of your goals until you too became successful in some way. Without that added push, you may have never gone out to chase after your dreams.

If you are hoping to start inspiring others to create success, you should know that you can take a little bit of effort and make it go a long way. Whether it is giving a young person a few hours of your time to guide them into a new business venture or you talk with someone on a social media site about going back to school to get their degree, you can inspire with little effort. It is all a matter of the way that you talk with others to let them know that they can be everything or anything that they desire to be as long as they fully believe in themselves.

Success requires preparation.

In inspiring others to create success it’s imperative that you let them know that they must march towards their vision by acquiring balance in their physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual lives.  They also have to learn how to deal with the ups and downs, learn patience, forgiveness, as well as, have a sense of humor.

Let them know that they will have to realize that both pain and pleasure can provide positive stress.  Allow the pain of being in a rut to push through to positive change.  They will succeed because they won’t want to actually experience the pain which comes from failure.

Of course, there is a lot to be said about inspiring others to create success, this meaning you too will find more inspiration for yourself along the way. It is through the actions of others that we can make ourselves better people. If you can share some inspiration with others which will help them create success and happiness, you will  have it come back to you in abundance and overflow.
