Effective Planning

Effective Planning is known as Goal Setting.

“Learn from the past, set vivid, detailed goals for the future, and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control: now.”–Denis Waitley
Effective Planning or goal setting is what will illuminate the road to your success.
“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”–Tony Robbins
“If you set goals and go after them with all the determination you can muster, your gifts will take you places that will amaze you.”–Les Brown
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.”–Pablo Picasso

The Purpose of Effective Planning is:
1.  To direct your time, entry, talents, and skills into the areas where they will be the most effective in leading you towards your vision.
2.  Will make the most effective use of your congenial competencies, by  using them to establish a more meaningful pattern of success.
3.  Help you identify the results you expect to achieve, then measure your progress towards those results, and make any corrections necessary along the way to achieving your results.
4.  Help you identify any obstacles in the pathway of your success, then deal with them more effectively.
“Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination and disregard for obstacles and other people’s criticisms, carry out your plan.”–Paul J Meyer
“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”–Henry David Thoreau

A goal will not be effective if you don’t make it ‘specific and measurable’.  Goal setting is a left brain activity, however, your right brain can play a role in helping you meet your desired goals.  Effective Planning, therefore, would be using both sides of your brain.

In Effective Planning each goal that you achieve will take you closer to your vision.  So set your goals, work hard to achieve them by directing your efforts in a systematic way.

Goal Setting: Staying on Track

Staying on Track with Goal Setting will require Discipline, Concentration, Focus and Applied Action.

staying on track Goal Setting: Staying on Track
Have you officially set  your goals?  Are you all geared up to get started on them?  Have you established some concise ways to support your goals?  What will ensure that you actually stay on your desired path?
“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.” –Jim Rohn
“You must take action now that will move you towards your goals. Develop a sense of urgency in your life.” –H. Jackson Brown Jr.
It is easy to get off  the path. It is also easy to get all wrapped in  the stuff in everyday life. We must plan and work to make our goals happen.  It will require exertion in an organized manner to see our goals come to life.  When you do set goals and establish ways to get where you want to go, how do you stay on track?
“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.” –Confucius

Once  you have clear goals that you want to achieve, it is easier to set the necessary steps to achieve them. It sounds easy.  But in all actuality it is not.  The fact is that you will only take control of your goal when you “stop getting distracted doing some of the things” that you are now doing.
Take the time to Examine your life right now? What does it look like? Did you get the necessary steps done today to reach your goal?   What you did today will show up later? How then do you stay on track?
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” –Pablo Picasso

Here are 2 steps which will help you stay on track towards fulfilling your goals:

1. Hire a mentor or coach.
This is one truly effective way to stay on track towards what you desire in life. Your mentor/coach can guide you in the right path. They can tweak your game. There are all types of mentor/coaches for any goal from weight loss to relationships to business. Find the right one for you. If you can’t afford one, be sure to  report to someone that you trust. Have a significant other person serve as a your mentor/coach. This will help ensure that you do what you are supposed to be doing to reach that goal.
Most successful people have coaches. They have a coach that is there to tweak their game. It was said at one time that Oprah Winfrey had 7 coaches. Look how successful she is in her life. Every millionaire I've heard about has had a coach.
2. Associate with people who have goals similar to yours.
By surrounding yourself with like-minded people you can accelerate your steps towards your desired goal or goals. This  will also make you more accountable, as well as, have others to help in the reinforcement on your goal.
Many people tend to get off track on their goals at some point. If you find yourself off the track, ask yourself what I am doing right now? Is it moving me  towards or away from my desired goal?
Many of the greatest accomplishments in history have been done against impossible odds because someone had a dream and set goals allowing them to stay on track to fulfill that dream.

Dreams Goals And Visions - Defining & Directing Your Personal Growth

Dreams Goals And Visions are extremely important because you can only go as far as you can imagine yourself going.

Your imagination knows no boundaries.

Having clearly defined dreams goals and visions is an essential part of personal growth and development. It has been proven that the most successful individuals are not only those who dare to dream, but those who set clearly defined goals for themselves, and envision themselves where they want to be.

In other words, they have a future perspective.

Retaining the ability to dream big and reach far is not as common as it should be. During childhood being 'realistic' is deeply engrained and children are discouraged from pursuing goals that seem unattainable. This can result in overly pragmatic adults, who find it impossible to think beyond, or even imagine, beyond their present circumstance: they have no dreams goals and visions, they simply exist.

But, breaking out of that mold and gaining a fire for life is possible if you want it! The first step is to say no to negativity! Don't cut yourself down, or laugh when you say 'I want a Ferrari".

Dare to dream, and dare to dream big! Believe that you deserve to be in a better place, be it financially, or in your personal life, and make a list of your dreams goals and visions. Do you want to meet and marry the woman of your dreams, are you sick of living in a one bedroom in a crappy part of town, do you want to get out of your 9-5 and have time for your kids?

Go for it!

Once you have listed your goals, prioritize them, and start working down the list a few at a time. Set deadlines and work out a plan to try and get where you want to be. Believing that anything is possible is the first step to changing your life, and taking charge of your personal growth.

Goals Have Deadlines: Why You Should Hold Yourself To Them

Goals should have deadlines because the difference between those who succeed and those who don't is that those who succeeded started with a goal in place.

Why You Should Hold Yourself To A Goal?

Setting personal goals is essential to making progress and achieving your personal best. Although most people make personal goals, very few ever achieve them. There are many factors that contribute to falling short, but one of the most common issues is that the individual fails to set a deadline for reaching it.

Why should goals have deadlines?

Think of a goal as a race, and like most races it must have a finish line at a definite point. Making a timeline or mental racetrack for your goal will put you in the frame of mind that there isn't 'infinity' in which to accomplish it: it adds the "win or loose factor".

Setting a deadline for your goals is only one step, the next is to make sure you allow yourself  "no excuses". There is nothing easier than excusing your past behavior or lack of progress to yourself. Creating a motivational platform to push yourself is an important step to creating the level of self discipline needed to achieve your goals on time.

Once your goals have deadlines there are a lot of ways you can keep yourself motivated: start a  vision board, website, blog or video diary to follow your progress. This method uses human pride and fear of failure to push you towards the finish line.

Another motivational method is using competition as a motivating factor. Having a partner or counterpart whose goals have deadlines also is a great way to make sure you stay motivated and don't give up.

Setting goals is important to personal growth, but if your goals don't have deadlines, chances are you will never accomplish them. Setting a definite time frame in which to reach your goals will keep you motivated and increase the likelihood that your personal growth will continue.

What is the Purpose of Self Motivation?

The purpose of self motivation is to help a person to assess his or her strengths, as well as, weaknesses in setting and achieving important goals in life.

The Purpose of Self Motivation
One will need to do a thorough self assessment, in order to come up with a clear picture on where they stand with regards to achieving life goals. Knowing his or her strengths is very important for the person to continue to achieve goals and even improve the strengths further. Having a good knowledge about the weaknesses are also important to improve these weaknesses and become successful in those areas in the future.
Motivation is what keeps people living their lives to the fullest in this world. Without motivation, people will find their lives boring and they would not achieve anything worthwhile. There tends to be many people who are dependent on other people to inspire and motivate them to achieve anything worthwhile in life.  Due to this, it is a very good probability that they will not achieve any goal in life without the help of another person. In this type of scenario is where the purpose of self motivation would really come in handy.

A person who needs to improve on self motivation should start by first setting his or her mind on it. In order to achieve anything in life the first requirement is the appropriate mindset. Make up your mind to be self motivated and do not give up until you achieve it.  You will need pure purpose and clarity.

The mindset is also important in handling any negative thoughts and feelings that are sure to surface once you have decided to pursue self motivation.

Improving on self motivation should be approached by targeting simple goals at first. If you start with a large goal, you may get discouraged when you cannot achieve the goal and give up on it completely. Be sure to set goals which are simple and can be achieved with little effort at first.  Enlarge these steps with the achievement of each goal.

Little by little you can learn to achieve difficult goals and finally set targets to achieve the most important goals in life such as perfect health, financial freedom, perfect relationship etc.

The Purpose of Self Motivation
As discussed above the purpose of self motivation is to help you live life to its fullest potential in the here and now.  As Les Brown says, “We have to get out of our head and comfort zones.”

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last.  Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” —  Zig Ziglar

“Motivation is what gets you started.  Habit is what keeps you going.”  -  Jim Ryun
