PRAYERS TO GOD ARE USED AS A SOURCE OF TALKING TO GOD.
PRAYER is the conscious contact you make with you Super Conscious Mind. It has been said that the Creative Spirit of God which created you, as well as, the world around you, has the ability along with the intelligence to help solve your problems and make your days more joyful and peaceful. But faith is required. You must first believe that He is able to do “all things”.
“In the day that I cried you strengthened me.”–Psalm 138:3
Prayer does not take time. It actually saves time. You see, through prayer you are asking God to be your partner. He is a partner who already has all the answers to every problem.
“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” –Mahatma Gandi
“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.” — Soren Kierkegaard
“Let us never forget to pray. God lives. He is near. He is real. He is not only aware of us but cares for us. He is our Father. He is accessible to all who will seek Him.” –Gordon B Hinckley
“You pray in your distress and in your need; would that you might pray also in the fullness of your joy and in your days of abundance.” –Kahlil Gibran
Prayer brings you in close contact with God. We are told to “pray without ceasing”. Therefore, we should pray while eating, walking, driving, grooming yourself in the morning, out on a date, washing the dishes and all throughout the day.
Moments of prayer will increase your peace, as well as, give you the ability to accomplish all things. Though your prayers must be unselfish. Must be God’s will be done and not yours.
You must acknowledge God’s wisdom and realize that, while your desire or prayer may be strong, it may not be right.
“Nevertheless, Father, not my will, but thy will be done.”
PRAYER:
“Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved, as to love.
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” –Saint Francis of Assisi
― Remember always this truth: ”The things which are impossible with men, are possible with God.”
