Servant Leadership Requirements!

Servant  Leadership requires you to be willing to do what the average person will not do.

Servant Leadership Requirements

The concept of servant leadership begins by being a servant first. A servant leader must first learn to serve before taking on any leadership position. Servant leaders are required to focus on the wellbeing and individual growth of their followers. It is known that people will not follow a leader until he/she shows genuine interest in them.

It is a known fact that Leadership can be a very challenging task at times.  One of the responsibilities of a servant leader is to motivate the team to all work together towards a common goal. This can be a daunting challenge indeed.  Many times your the team will  be comprised of very diverse members, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and work styles.

Successful people have learned to pass up immediate pleasures in return for long term pleasures. They are willing to do the dull and unglamorous things that unsuccessful people are unwilling to do.

Servant Leadership Requirements

Team dynamics are also often complicated at times by internal disagreements and personal conflicts. Because the leader, not only has  to work with this group of people, but they also need to achieve the  expected results.

Servant Leadership:

A good leader will see the greatest results by working and utilizing the strengths and working style characteristics of the personalities on the team. By correctly positioning the individual member strengths and compensating for weaknesses, the leader can bring the team into a productive balance and harmony.

“Integrity is a powerful force, keeping you alive to others long after you’ve left their presence.” –Mollie Marti

Servant Leaders can greatly benefit by being able to identify the types of personality characteristics of their team members. Through understanding the basic personality types, the leader can use individual strengths of members for the good of the team, as well as assign tasks that individual team member’s naturally excel in.

A leader can also learn to communicate in a way that is motivating, by taking into account the needs, values and working preferences of different team members.

“If you can’t handle others’ disapproval, then leadership isn't for you.” — Miles Anthony Smith

The four personality types will be described using the colors Yellow, Blue, Green and Red.

A strong Yellow member will take work and responsibility very seriously. Yellow personalities will want to contribute, be part of the team, and to be successful and productive. They  tend to respond well to recognition, rewards and incentives. However, your Yellow team members need well defined responsibilities and structure, firm expectations and timelines, as well as, being reassured from authority from time to time that they are on the right track.

A strong Blue personality needs an “open”, social atmosphere to be able work well. Relationships are very important for them, and they require the freedom to be able to nurture relationships with coworkers, customers and team members. Realize that conflict and intense competition are painful for a strong Blue, but they will thrive in a positive, creative, service orientated atmosphere.

A strong Green personality is more noted for expertise rather than people skills. They are excellent when working with facts, data, research and analytical projects. Greens shine in their ability for designing, understanding complex systems and strategy. Know that “facts” are of utmost importance for the Green, but they have a weakness for routine follow through and are somewhat insensitive in social interactions.

A strong Red team member will be noticed by their energy, skill and creativity and strong personality.  A key factor for an Red is the freedom to be able to use their skills and abilities. If there is too much structure, or their boss is an authoritarian, the red personality feels blocked and will not function well. Red personalities are money focused and will work well in a spirit of teamwork, competition and camaraderie. They are action orientated,  though and become impatient with prolonged talking and detailed administrative tasks.  They are producers!

When a leader recognizes the colors of his/her team, can use this knowledge to blend the team members into a unified, well coordinated picture poised for success. By facilitating each team member to function in their areas of natural strength and motivating them by communicating in a way that inspires harmony and team work, the Servant Leader is well on the way to achieving extraordinary results for their team and themselves.

How To Have An Effective Conversation

Having an effective conversation will most often begin with you asking simple questions.

How To Have An Effective Conversation

Always ask questions to begin an effective  conversation, such as:
1.  Where are you from?
2.  What do you think of he weather we’re having?
3.  What business are you presently in?
4.  What time is it?

“A conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue. That’s why there are so few good conversations: due to scarcity, two intelligent talkers seldom meet.” –Truman Capote

“A single conversation across the table with a wise man is better than ten years mere study of books.” –Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Use simple, easy to remember questions in order to begin effective communication.

It is well known that “People like to talk about themselves.”  Make sure that you keep the conversation steered to the other person’s interest.  Learn their:  Why?  What?  When? Where? and How?

The Power of Agreement:

Share anything about yourself or your past experience which shows that you are like minded.  This will help the other person to like you automatically.  Me-too – I agree with you!

Become an Excellent Listener:

Once you get the other person talking long enough, they simply cannot disguise their real feelings or motives.

The Power in becoming a great listener is that it allows you to overcome any self-consciousness or self-centeredness.

Listening to people will also empower you to be more able to feel them out.  Understanding comes from listening.  You will never really understand another person unless you are completely willing to listen carefully, sympathetically and patiently.

In order to deal with people more effectively through conversation, you will have to know what people truly want, what they need and who they really are.

How to Have An Effective Conversation

More steps in having an effective conversation will require you to:

a.  Always look directly at the person who is talking.
b.  Always appear deeply interested in what they are saying.
c.  Lean towards the person talking.
d.  Ask simply questions in order to get clarity of purpose.
e.  Never, no never, interrupt; instead ask them to tell you more.
f.  Always stick to the speakers subject.
g.  Be sure to use the speaker’s words in order to get your own point across.  (Once the speaker has finished speaking – repeat their words back to them to insure them that you were listening fully.  This will not only prove you’ve been listening, but is a good way to introduce your own ideas without opposition.)  Preface some of your own remarks with;  ”As you pointed out – or – It’s just like you said.

Be sure also to use a soft appeal!  Never attack another person’s ego.  When and if you are asked a question, always pause before answering.  Always respond moderately and accurately.  Never be forceful!  Calm brings more calm while force brings with it more force.

Remember it always flatters the speaker when you ask for their advice and then listen to their idea’s.

“The reason why so few people are agreeable in conversation is that each is thinking more about what he intends to say than others are saying.” –Francois de La Rochefoucauld

Learning to have an Effective Conversation will take practice, but will always be rewarding in the end.  It begins with asking questions and then becoming an Effective Listener!

What is the Purpose of Self Motivation?

The purpose of self motivation is to help a person to assess his or her strengths, as well as, weaknesses in setting and achieving important goals in life.

The Purpose of Self Motivation
One will need to do a thorough self assessment, in order to come up with a clear picture on where they stand with regards to achieving life goals. Knowing his or her strengths is very important for the person to continue to achieve goals and even improve the strengths further. Having a good knowledge about the weaknesses are also important to improve these weaknesses and become successful in those areas in the future.
Motivation is what keeps people living their lives to the fullest in this world. Without motivation, people will find their lives boring and they would not achieve anything worthwhile. There tends to be many people who are dependent on other people to inspire and motivate them to achieve anything worthwhile in life.  Due to this, it is a very good probability that they will not achieve any goal in life without the help of another person. In this type of scenario is where the purpose of self motivation would really come in handy.

A person who needs to improve on self motivation should start by first setting his or her mind on it. In order to achieve anything in life the first requirement is the appropriate mindset. Make up your mind to be self motivated and do not give up until you achieve it.  You will need pure purpose and clarity.

The mindset is also important in handling any negative thoughts and feelings that are sure to surface once you have decided to pursue self motivation.

Improving on self motivation should be approached by targeting simple goals at first. If you start with a large goal, you may get discouraged when you cannot achieve the goal and give up on it completely. Be sure to set goals which are simple and can be achieved with little effort at first.  Enlarge these steps with the achievement of each goal.

Little by little you can learn to achieve difficult goals and finally set targets to achieve the most important goals in life such as perfect health, financial freedom, perfect relationship etc.

The Purpose of Self Motivation
As discussed above the purpose of self motivation is to help you live life to its fullest potential in the here and now.  As Les Brown says, “We have to get out of our head and comfort zones.”

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last.  Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” —  Zig Ziglar

“Motivation is what gets you started.  Habit is what keeps you going.”  -  Jim Ryun

Where, Oh Where Have You Been? The Faith Walk!

I've been “Walking Daily By Faith.”

Daughter was in a 3 car collision and I had to leave.

Where, oh where have you been?

We are to walk by faith daily, first because we are believers and second because through every trial or circumstance we know that God is, He lives and He is awesome and so very, very real.

Using our faith during times of trial is essential to its growth process, for you see we know not what will happen in the next second, let alone the next week.

We are told to watch and pray, and for a very good reason.  When the prayers go up, the blessings come down.  Keep your children covered in prayer at “all times.”  Trust and Believe.

The Accident:

On September 14, 2013 at approximately 2:30 a.m. my oldest daughter and her friends, as well as two teenagers will traveling home to Vegas from LA.  You see they felt it would be less traffic at that hour.  Unbeknownst to them though they would cross a line that they were unprepared for.

Shortly after entering the freeway they noticed a  cloud of smoke, so they thought.  But in actuality it was sand from a vehicle hitting one of the barrels on the side of the freeway. You see the driver dosed off for a second and that was all it took.  He hit the barrels and went into a spin.  While spinning he hit the vehicle my daughter and friends were travelling in.  They too, are now in a spin and were hit by another vehicle.  From the impact of the second vehicle they flew over the center divider into oncoming traffic and were hit yet a third time.  This time they rolled over and over and over again.  When their vehicle finally stopped they were upside down on the freeway.

Two of the drivers in the three vehicles had to be cut out by the jaws of life.  My daughter’s forehead was split open, down the center and across the right side.  With blood pouring out profusely she still managed to get one of the teenagers out of the car, the other had to be cut out as well.

When I received the call that my daughter was in an accident and bleeding from the brain. Panic wants to arise on the inside of me but I don’t have time for that.  I have to get on an airplane in order to get to my child.  However, to be honest, I couldn't think.  Even something as simple as unzipping a bag I couldn't do.

On the plane I prayed for peace inside of me, I had to calm down on the inside.  I trusted God to keep my child safe (who is a grown woman by the way).

We walk by faith, not be sight. – 2 Corinthians 5:7

Our faith is rooted in who we know.  It comes alive when in a tense circumstance where we know that this situation or circumstance if out of our control.  As a result of being in these types of situations is where we are enabled to allow the creative process  to make better choices, create a better life or better methods.  From near death experiences comes new Life.

Where, oh where have you been

From an ugly situation, beauty can arise.  Rise up, dust yourself off and start all over again on a new and better path with a loving Savior who will never, no never leave you nor forsake you.  Even when it looks like He isn't there.  Know that He is.

Do not be ruled by your emotions.  Emotions lie and they will take control if you allow it. You see, while on the plane I felt I needed a brown bag to breathe into because my heart was beating faster than it should.  I kept praying softly for the Lord to bring me peace.

He is a God who answers prayers, while exiting the first plane he sent a woman across my path with a big smile and we spoke, she asked me if I lived there (Colorado) and I told her no, I was on my way to see about my daughter who was in the hospital because of a major accident.  She immediately asked her name and told me she would be praying.

On the second plane, God send a Pastor to sit next to me.  He too assured me that he would be praying.  Did this quiet me down, oh Yes, because I knew that not only was my God taking care of my daughter, He was with me as well.

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:11  (It is having a deep or inner assurance or conviction that what you are hoping for, which is based upon the Word of God, will indeed come to pass even if you see no external evidence for it.)

My daughter is up walking around, strong and well.  She will have to still have cosmetic surgery.  The driver of her vehicle had her ankle and leg broken, along with two surgeries. The children are well and home.  Unfortunately, the original driver who dosed off into the barrels passed today in his second surgery.  Please pray for that family.

I've been away, but I’m back.  Giving all the praise and glory to God!

How Is Your Attitude?

Your attitude will always  determine your altitude.

How high you can go!

How Is Your Attitude?

“Choosing to be positive and having a grateful attitude is going to determine how you’re going to live your life.” —-Joel Osteen

“Our life is what our thoughts make it”.–  Marcus Aurelius

It has been said that:
“The sum of all your thoughts comprises your overall attitude.”–John C Maxwell

“Yes, if we think happy thoughts, we will be happy. If we think miserable thoughts, we will be miserable. If we think fear thoughts, we will be fearful. If we think sickly thoughts we probably will be ill. If we think failure, we will certainly fail. If we wallow in self-pity, everyone will want to shun us and avoid us”. — Dale Carnegie

How Is Your Attitude?

A negative attitude will pull you down and with it your professional results. A positive attitude will pull you over the rough spots and energize you to lift your results to new heights – to match your vision.

Whether you need an attitude adjustment a couple of times a day, once a week or only occasionally, never forget that your attitude determines your altitude. Don’t let outside people or events bring yours down.

Mental attitude is the power that we hold in our heads.  Our reality can be changed dramatically by something as simple as a single thought.  Even when it comes to nutrition the adage is you are what you eat.

When it comes to terms of leadership, it would be more likely that you are what you think. Contrary to what people want to believe, outside influences don’t usually determine your happiness or success, rather it is how we react to those influences which have the effects be they – good or bad.

Humor is vital. When things don ‘t seem to be going your way, remember to keep everything in perspective and relax. Take a deep breath or laugh.

Having positive self-confident feelings not only help you achieve more; they also make others want to be associated with you. People tend to be drawn to others who have an upbeat outlook, who have a can-do attitude. Constant complainers will not collect an easy following.

One of a leader’s most important jobs is to set a positive and self-confident tone, exuding the attitude that failure is not an option. A positive attitude is the cornerstone of leadership. It is this same confidence that a quarterback, a golfer, or a tennis star projects every time they come out of the locker room.

To gain strength having a positive attitude, while not being sapped by the negative, here are a few ideas:
1. Never allow the “negative nellies” drain you or poison your team.
2. Always tap into your spiritual essence.  Allow your spirit and your heart to move you and your work forward.
3.  Break away from the negative energy cycle.  If you see yourself spiraling down or falling into a rut, mix it up, breakup the routine and do something fast that lifts you up. When you see one of your team members in a rut of unproductive or unprofessional behavior address it quickly, don’t let it fester.
4.  Active listening.  Work at it, to hear what your team wants. Often just by being heard, problems can go away and people really make a big turnaround.

You must be the emotional manager of your attitude.  Only you can determine how high you will go in this life.

Positive words will have a positive effect on your attitude. It is the total of all your thoughts which will comprise your overall attitude.

Be careful what you think or say!  Be a proactive positive thinker, remain in a positive zone, receive the positive in your life and possess a Positive Attitude all the days of your life.  Quickly hone in to it; as well as in your reactions to external events, and you’ll see the culture around you shift to the positive as well.

“Examine the labels you apply to yourself.  Every label is a boundary or limit you will not let yourself cross.”  –Dwayne Dyer

The Art of Storytelling

The Art of Storytelling has been used for many years to illustrate a point or get a message across.

Even Jesus Christ used parables (stories) to get His point across to the multitude of people in the Gospels.

The Art of Storytelling

Storytelling is the conveying of events in words, and images, often by improvisation or embellishment – Wikipedia

“If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.” –Zig Ziglar

Many times when you are presenting a business, it is very easy to get caught up giving facts and completely lose the interest of your prospect.  However, when you use the art of storytelling and tell a story about the success of someone who is using the product or have a person give a live testimonial about how much they love being a distributor, you will keep the interest of new people who are listening for the first time.

“You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.”–Zig Ziglar

For the majority of us, the first time we were ever presented with the concept of a live audience was in kindergarten when we played “show and tell”.  Everyone was always interested in what we were saying because we were simply telling a story.

We've all heard of the famous K.I.S.S. rule: Keep It Simple Stupid!

When presenting your business or product.  It’s best at times just to tell a story and keep it simple. Most people can relate to a grandmother, who can talk about her grandchild as the most beautiful, precious child in the world. This grandmother will make you feel as if her grandchild is the most precious gift to own as your own.

Try taking that same simplicity and utilize it during your presentation in order to create the same result, which is Ownership of your product.

When you tell stories, people tend to remember those stories versus all the facts you may pour out at them. “FACTS TELL, BUT STORIES SELL.”

The Art of Storytelling

Many will want to get involved in your business or purchase your product because of all the success stories that you have told.  People love to be part of a winning team.

Storytelling has a tendency to keep people tied into you and your presentation.  When in doubt during a presentation, tell a story in order to bring people’s attention back to you.

When you use a combination of the art of storytelling, a good attitude along with the correct mindset, it will be possible for you to achieve your wildest dreams!

At The Neo Network we share stories and live testimonials of all the success stories happening on a weekly basis.  If you’re looking for a group that’s moving and helping others achieve success.  Click the Enter the Matrix button below.
